Waterman’s Infrastructure & Environment team seeks an Engineer to join our Drainage and Infrastructure team in the Perth office. The primary technical skills required are good drainage design including foul, surface water, SUDs, below ground building drainage and pumping stations. Experience of preparing flood risk assessments would be an advantage.
You will be involved in a wide range of projects throughout the UK. We encourage and develop our people, and provide them with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually, as well as giving them the opportunity to make a valued contribution to the team. Reporting to an Associate/Technical Director, you will support them in delivering projects effectively to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining technical performance standards.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
There are various duties and responsibilities central to the role and these will assist you in reaching your full potential;
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) Civil Engineer.
- 3 to 5 years experience working within the engineering industry
- Experience in developing surface and foul water drainage strategies and designs for approval and adoption.
- Experience in hydraulic modelling of drainage systems (Micro Drainage).
- Experience in Flood Risk Assessment, and flood modelling.
- Experience in the use of CAD and Civil 3D (or similar).
- Good knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
- Good knowledge of infrastructure design.
- Good knowledge of legislation, policies, and design and maintenance standards in relation to flood risk management and drainage systems.
- Experience of construction site supervision.
- Good communications skills.
- Ability to demonstrate complex problem solving skills
