Balfour Beatty appoints new construction chief

Infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has appointed Nick Crossfield as CEO of its UK Construction Services business.

Joining the group later this year, he will be responsible for the strategic leadership of Balfour Beatty’s UK Construction Services business, delivering on its business plans with a focus on further developing its presence in the growing infrastructure market - including energy, defence and sustainable transportation.

He will sit on the executive committee and report directly into group chief executive, Leo Quinn.

Having studied mechanical engineering at Reading University, Crossfield has more than 40 years’ experience within the industrial and engineering industries, starting his career as a graduate with BAE Systems, and going on to work with British Steel, Network Rail and Siemens. 

He has been managing director of Alstom Transportation’s UK and Ireland business, since 2015.
